Here's How the Cooking Party Works... You make a guest list and work with us to create the perfect menu. We can make a menu to tailor your needs or you can choose from our seasonal menus. You can even mix and match dishes from our selection of menus. We shop for the food, and suggest wines for you to buy, supply the equipment you'll need, and guide you and your guests through the preparation of your gourmet meal. Here's What Happens the Day Of The Party You set the table, provide the wine for the party and let the chef take over from there. That's it, that's all. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to cook! We arrive thirty minutes before the guests to help set up the kitchen for the party. When the guests arrive, we offer them a little something to eat while they sip their wine and get acquainted. Then they step in to the kitchen for a 1 1/2 to 2 hour cooking class. In the kitchen, the group divides into teams and the chef guides the group through the entire three-course meal, sharing tips and techniques to make it all run smoothly. The guests sit down to the dinner that has been prepared and offer a toast to a job well done. Where Do You Throw a Cooking Party? All cooking parties are thrown in your own home. There are rental spaces to use in the city, but they are only good for groups of 15 or more. How Many People Can You Have at the Party We have worked in every kind of kitchen you can imagine. The rule of thumb is that you should be able to have most of your guests in the kitchen at one time. This means that if you have a small kitchen we can create comfortable workspaces outside the kitchen for prep work and general socializing. Here's How the Iron Chef Kitchen Challenge Works: The group divides into two teams and are given specific ingredients chosen by the host/hostess. Each group is challenged to make an entrée and two side dishes. The teams get together and plan the menu with some assistance from the chef and a stack of available recipes. The teams choose a name and a team leader who will hopefully carry their group to victory or at least a good meal!
